Rafting in Nepal

 

kaligandaki River

Kaligandaki river trip requires either a flight or drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara and one night stay in Pokhara.

RIVER DETAILS:
Package Duration: -5 days

River grade -4 class
Rafting starting point -Naya Pul.
Rafting ending point -Mirmi
Best seasons -September through May.

FIVE DAYS ITINERARY

Day 1 In Pokhara after breakfast we drive to the rafting point , Naya Pul, approximately 3 hours. We provide lunch a Expedition river guide will give Naya Pul and a full safety briefing. After lunch we start rafting hitting class 3 to 4 rapids called “LITTLE BROTHER “ “BIG BROTHER” “CAVE “ and “DAZE”. For that day we finish rafting and we provide a hot cup of tea/coffee with snacks after set up the camp,you will dinner.

Day 2 After breakfast, once the camp gear pack and we start rafting down the river for a full day of white water. During which you will see magnificent views of Annapurna I Himalchuli along this part of the river view and lush vegetation hangs from the cliff faces through which small waterfalls run with our safety kayaks you in position you negotiate numerous exciting rapids called “PYTHON ROCK” “PHALE BASH” “DOUBLE BAND”and “BLACK ROCK” before a welcome lunch break. After lunch raft flows down through continuous white water section and camp at Purtighat.

Day 3 After breakfast soon after getting on the water we arrive at the holy village. Here the river has deposited a house sized boulder at the confluence with a smaller tributary since confluence are considered holy places in the Hindu religion . this boulder has become as important shrines to the local river people. A clean run through Seti Khola rapid puts us into “GRAVE”. The river narrows through this remote gorge, providing many thrilling drops and turns to challenge the rafting crews. In the afternoon “TOMBSTONE” rapid looms on the horizon. We will finish our rafting, just before Hydroelectric Dam,Mirmi after lunch, from where we drive back to Pokhara about 4 hours.


WHAT WE PROVIDE

  • All rafting equipment water proof bags for personal gear.

  • Helmets,life jackets, paddles.

  • Two men tent, Mattress, Sleeping Bag .

  • Food, camping and cooking equipment .

  • Toilet tent .

  • First aid kit etc.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Sweater –Fiber pile/Fleece Jacket

  • Warm pants, Tennis shoes/sneakers

  • Set thermal underwear (opt).

  • Two T-shirts, two half pants, towel.

  • Sun lotion-lip cream.

  • Personal toiletries.

  • Camera ,Flim, pocketknife.

  • Torch with spare batteries.
